I am a film director and theatre maker — often projection designer! and sometimes an actor. My work frequently explores themes surrounding dreams, queerness, class, trauma, and the influence of technology and media on identity and desire. At its core, my practice examines the spaces between who we are and who we believe we should be, the real and the virtual, and the present and the past.
As a projection designer, I create video installations that focus on the relationship between digital media and physical bodies and spaces, cultivating harmony and tension between theatrical and cinematic modes. Most notably on the world premiere of the musical The Outsiders and on the national tour of R.E.S.P.E.C.T. As an associate designer, editor and animator my work has been showcased with American Ballet Theater, Lincoln Center, New York Theater Workshop, and on Broadway’s Water for Elephants (among many others!)
I’m currently in production for You Really Like Me!, my debut short as writer/ director as well as Something is Wrong Here - an experimental feature based loosely on the works of David Lynch and the RPG of the same name by Kira Magrann.
