Taylor Edelle Stuart is a film director and theatre maker.

Her work frequently explores themes surrounding dreams, queerness, class, performance, memory, trauma, and the ways media and technology distort and define our identities, desires, and dreams. At its core, her practice examines the spaces between who we are and who we believe we should be, actuality and the virtuality, and the present and the past.

She is currently in production for You Really Like Me!, her debut short as writer/ director. She is also in post-production for Something is Wrong Here - an experimental feature based loosely on the works of David Lynch and the RPG of the same name by Kira Magrann. She is a director on Boy Shorts, the short film series by Molly Brown. She was a member of Mercury Store’s inaugural directing Lab where she developed and presented an original work entitled I Told You When I Came I Was a Stranger under the advisement of Leigh Silverman and Aya Ogawa. She returned to Mercury Store in 2024 to develop You Really like Me! under the advisement of RubΓ©n Polendo.

As a video artist and projection designer, she creates video installations that focus on the relationship between digital media and physical bodies and spaces, cultivating harmony and tension between theatrical and cinematic modes. Her works include the world premiere of the musical The Outsiders as well as the national tour of R.E.S.P.E.C.T. - a concert series celebrating the life and work of Aretha Franklin (among many others.) As an associate video & projection designer, editor, and animator; her work has been showcased with American Ballet Theatre, Lincoln Center Theatre, New York Theater Workshop, off Broadway, on Broadway and beyond. Across her design work she has worked closely with directors such as Danya Taymor, Jessica Stone, Tina Landau, Rachel Chavkin, Rebecca Taichman, and Moises Kaufman. Currently: Associate Video Designer on Broadway’s Floyd Collins (Des. Ray Sun, Dir. Tina Landau - Lincoln Center Theater); Associate Video/ Projection Designer Here There Are Blueberries ( Des.
